    614 Frankfort Ave. Cleveland OH

You may want to dive into a fantastic movie. dive bar A cold beer and two-fisted hamburger is the perfect way to end a long day. This downtown oasis, located in a back alley, has been a fixture since 1984. It attracts a regular circle that includes food service professionals, lawyers, doctors and their clients. You can watch the Browns or the Cavs while enjoying a club sandwich, a chicken wing, or a basket of onion rings. On busy nights you can expect to squeeze on a stool at the bar, meet some new friends and enjoy a couple of rounds courtesy of your neighbor.

Shaker Heights, OH 3441 Tuttle Rd

Shaker Heights has always been a bedroom community. It is only a light rail ride away from the “big city.” The leafy inner ring of the city was never really home to a Main Street or a vibrant urban core. This changed a few decades ago, when local leaders and city leaders moved heaven and earth and more than a couple of major roads to create Van Aken District. This indoor-outdoor collection of local shops, cafes, and businesses is the anti-lifestyle-center worthy of a visit. Head inside the Market Hall when you visit. Lox, Stock and Brisket, the mini-Jewish Deli, has some of the best chicken Schnitzel sandwiches in town, as well as amazing brisket sandwich. Banter has a variety of Montreal-style Poutine, Beet Jar offers vegan wraps and smoothies, and Boom’s Pizza serves up some killer slices.

    West Side Market

    1979 W 25th St. Cleveland, OH

The West Side Market celebrated 100 years in 2012. Since then, it has undergone major renovations to ensure that the market remains relevant and rich. The West Side Market, which was once known as the “city’s grocery store” and featured a beautiful, spacious hall with a variety of meat, poultry and dairy vendors, along with dozens of produce and bakery shops, has undergone alterations to appeal to modern shoppers and visitors. The destination is currently undergoing a massive $53 million transformation. It has updated systems for both shoppers and vendors, including a climate-controlled product wing. More grab-and go foods, public seating indoors and outdoors, gathering spaces for chefs demos, and more are still to come. There is no need to delay a trip as the Market offers a variety of delicious culinary items, including Amish poultry and seafood, artisan breads and cheeses, spices and herbs imported from abroad, desserts, pierogies and more. Don’t miss Mediterranean Imported Foods, a store in a corner of the market that manages to carry every great food product under the sun; Frank’s Bratwurst for a classic bratwurst and sauerkraut sandwich; and Crepe’s de Luxe for made-to-order Parisian-style sweet or savory crêpes. Grab some food, walk to the end of a long hall and climb the stairs up to a balcony. From there, you can enjoy the view of one of the most famous sights in the city.
