One of the top golf pros in the world, Justin Thomas He has been traveling the world for many years, visiting his favorite golf courses in Northern Ireland, or other places. Royal County Down Australia Royal MelbournePennsylvania or other states he considers more difficult, such as Pennsylvania Oakmont New Jersey Pine Valley. Although he is from Florida, he recently spent more time on the Garden State greens while filming his debut in this summer’s blockbuster, comedy “Happy Gilmore 2,” In which he plays a photo-snapping self.

The PGA Tour is where he spends a significant portion of his year, and he has an impressive record. 16 career winsThe father of a 9-month-old With wife Jillian, now cherishes simpler moments. “They hit it spot-on in the movie—your happy place changes,” the 34-year-old tells Travel + Leisure. “Right now, mine is a full night’s sleep for Molly, no whining or crying throughout the night—all the old people stuff.”

She has accompanied her father to many of his tournaments. However, she has not yet made the trip across the Atlantic to the U.K. He says that with his lifestyle, he has to figure out how to get by. “My wife, and I, don’t know what to compare her with, but based on our limited knowledge, we think she has been a wonderful baby. We’ve had a lot of luck.”

Thomas acknowledges that Jillian is “the mastermind” behind the traveling with an infant. His role is to be “there when I’m required,” and to pack a travel crib, as well as blackout curtains. He admits, “Both our mothers kind of roll their eyeballs at the amount technology and gadgets out there these days.”

The Thomases will enjoy traveling together. “It’ll be great for her to see different places. As a youngster, she will be lucky to visit so many different places.

    Best golf destination?
This is a difficult one. Baker’s Bay. This is a beautiful, fun and challenging golf course. And also the experience in general—very laid-back. It’s a great experience.

When you go on vacation, do you play golf?
I probably play more golf on vacation than I like to, but only with others. It’s more fun golf—not a grind type of thing.

Which fellow golfer is the best travel companion?
You might get me in trouble! I’ve traveled a lot with Rickie, Jordan, and Gary. We used to more before Jordan, Rickie, and myself started families—it definitely has become a lot more difficult.

You’d like to go on a trip with an athlete?
Michael Jordan is my choice because he has a nice plane. That makes traveling a lot more convenient.

What is the best trip you have ever taken?
We went to London a few years back with the Spieths. We all went to Wimbledon, stayed at an amazing hotel in London, and had a blast. The food was amazing, and we had so much fun!

Thomases traveled a lot before becoming parents. The Thomases even went on a babymoon. Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee. He says, “It was an enjoyable and relaxing getaway for us. But I felt bad for Jillian as they had great cocktails that I could only enjoy.” The food is incredible, too.

The Volunteer State is special to the couple because they got married at College Grove in Tennessee. in 2022Many of their guests stay at the Harpeth Hotel He calls Franklin “awesome”. “We try to get there every once in a while since there’s so many great little restaurants and areas you can walk to—it’s a sweet town,” he says.

Thomas is well-versed in this area of the country, having been raised in Louisville. Fourth Street Live! You can also read about the waterfrontCheck out the nearby St. Matthews racetrack and visit St. Matthews Churchill Downs. Thomas went to Tuscaloosa to attend a football game.

He now calls Jupiter, Florida home. “Everything is very relaxed and laid back,” whether it’s eating meals on the waterfront or enjoying a meal at the beach. Square Grouper Tiki Bar You can also find out more about U-Tiki Beach Heading up 1000 North For nights out.

When he travels to tournaments, he looks for the most convenient and streamlined way to get there. He shares his time with family and friends. NetJets Private flights with other players. “Time, which is a precious commodity, is valuable, and saving time is important for the game, in general,” said the player ranked No. 5 player says.

In the past, it was more difficult to travel with golf clubs. They were checked in with the other baggage on the plane. “You’ll get a sore arm from carrying that through the airport pretty quickly,” he says. “Everybody’s got horror stories—I’ve had times where bags don’t show up and you’re just trying to make it work.”

He advises fellow golfers to always be prepared to change direction. I don’t think you need to have a backup plan. Just be aware that things can change. Be flexible and accept the changes.

Thomas has learned that he should focus on the things he can control. For example, bringing along a pillow of full size in his carry-on. “That’s a must—I travel with a pillow every week,” he says of prioritizing comfort on the go. In his bag, he also has Advil, Chapstick and a few Sharpies. He also has a phone charger as well as snacks and electrolytes.

Sunscreen is his number one priority.  His parents made sure he had regular skin checks because he spent so much time outside. In high school, his parents had him have a mole removed from his back. It turned out to cancerous. He says that the mole was not major but had to be excavated a bit. It turned out to work out fine. This made him realize the importance of these tests, and how much his calves and back of neck are exposed to sunlight.

When he was 26 years old, the athlete noticed a mole that “was very small but looked different” on his left leg. His instincts were right—the spot was in the early stages of melanoma.

The surgery was fairly simple—a half-hour procedure that he was awake for. The impact was massive. He says, “It was an eye-opening event.” “It was a very fortunate thing that I caught it at such an early stage.”

Thomas decided to use his scare as an opportunity to help others. He started a sunscreen company called WearSPFIt’s similar to being hungry for many people: you wait until you are hungry before eating. “They wait until their skin is sunburned or they feel burned before applying sunscreen,” he says. “But the key is to apply before you leave, reapply as the day progresses, and educate yourself on the UV index.” It doesn’t matter if it’s cloudy or not sunny, you can still get burned. I was unaware of this in the past.

He has also used it to form creative partnerships with other people, such as the recent one between Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. Garage Beer. Thomas stated that he spent time with Jason in Philly at the tour event. He said his wife was always criticizing him for getting sunburned. “He was thrilled about this collaboration, because he’s always getting sunburned!”

Travis and he were both in the same room. Happy Gilmore 2,, they didn’t cross paths there—but they have hung out a bit. It would be easy for him to plan a vacation with them. Thomas suggests a golfing trip, as he knows Travis and Jason both love golf. But just going to somewhere fun and watching these two doing their thing while being a fly in the room would be hilarious and entertaining!
