Today, Marriott International has completed its acquisition of the innovative lifestyle brand citizenM. This transaction, which is part of Marriott’s global strategy to grow its select-service portfolio, provides Marriott Bonvoy members and guests with more options for lodging in exciting locations around the globe.
In the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific, there are currently 37 open hotels in the citizenM portfolio, totaling 8,789 room. Marriott is also expected to add CitizenM’s pipeline of two hotels with over 300 rooms.

Marriott has completed the acquisition and will now begin the integration of the CitizenM portfolio within its systems. CitizenM properties will continue to be bookable through citizenM’s online channels until they are fully integrated later this year. Members of the citizenM award-winning subscription program can continue to receive benefits. More details will be released about the new program after integration. After integration, CitizenM will be a fully-participating brand in the Marriott Bonvoy program. This will unlock even more value to members.
