To create the list, the company evaluated tens of thousands of U.S. towns with populations ranging from 75,000 to 500,000. It took into account a variety of factors, such as the city’s economy and housing cost, amenities, transportation options, safety, health, education and environment. In order to maintain affordability, only cities that had a median house value below $500,000 were considered. Each place was given a Livability score, which is “basically a grade a city according to its performance in the prescribed categories,” explained the website.
This year will be no different. Flower Mound, TexasIt received the highest Livability Rating of 875.
“No secrets, Flower Mound is famous for its wildflowers. It lives up to its name!” Flower Mound—which sits 650 feet above sea level and is perched over the countryside—probably got its name because of the wildflowers that carpet the elevated mound in the town center,” the website shared. “From the Texas bluebonnets, to the pansies and Indian blankets which look like daisies with yellow tips, it’s easy to see why the people here love to live in this area.”
Its growing economy, its excellent schools, and access to health care are all reasons why the town has received such high praise. Flower Mound is home to over 2,000 businesses, all of which contribute to the vibrant economy. Technology, manufacturing, professional services, and other industries make up the majority. Lewisville Independent Schools District, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital – Flower Mound, and Communications Test Design, Inc. are the city’s largest employers.
Flower Mound, however, is not the only place to consider moving in 2025. Carmel, Indiana had a great showing as well, with a score of 872. The city came out on top in the company‘s 2024 ranking The city is known for its affordable housing and safe environment, as well as top-rated educational institutions.
Sugar Land, Texas had the third-highest Livability Score of 854. The website stated that the city was a good place to reside due to its low cost, highly-educated workforce, and business friendly environment.
Naperville in Illinois was earlier this year also named as a named the best place to live in America by NicheRoswell, Georgia, took the fifth place with a score of 838.
