YOTEL Tokyo Ginza The Grand Opening Party, which celebrated YOTEL To the World and the global brand mission to challenge the status quo within the hospitality sector, was held on Monday 9th of June. Over 200 guests attended the event, which showcased YOTEL’s signature sleek design and efficient technology, as well as innovative experiences in the public areas and rooms. Senior leaders of YOTEL as well Frasers Hospitality – YOTEL’s Japanese partner – were in attendance, along with local influencers and corporate partners as well members of the press. The hotel is located in the lively Ginza district and marks a significant moment for YOTEL, as it introduces the ‘Non-Stop” ethos globally to the Japanese market.
YOTEL World: non-stop: an immersive globetrotting adventure
Guests moved through curated city-themed spaces, celebrating where YOTEL thrives and lives. With a YOTEL Passport in hand, guests collected stamps on their nonstop journey from New York to Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo.
Each room activation made use of YOTEL’s clever, space-saving design including the signature reclining SmartBed™, efficient storage solutions and mood lighting, to become a full-sensory journey.
- Midnight in Manhattan – a giant photobooth with balloons, oversized pillows and props to create a glamorous sleepover in Manhattan.
- Ginza Game Room – transformed a room in to a neon lit arcade as a throwback of Japan’s gaming glory days.
- Southeast Asia Oasis: a calming moment where guests could relax on the SmartBed™ with a massage and refreshing drinks.
- Urban Jungle: Convenience at your fingertips. Urban Jungle, YOTEL’s beauty partner, offered its guests products from their body and skincare range.
- Mio Fuukawa, artist in residence at YOTEL Tokyo Ginza, presented her work and discussed how she creates digital art bespoke for the hotel.
Japan’s culture and heritage: a connection to the past
A Japanese drumming performance began the night’s official proceedings. Shinya Ogawa was the General Manager of YOTEL Tokyo Ginza. He introduced Mr Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi who is the Group CEO at Frasers Property. Hubert Viriot the CEO at YOTEL welcomed guests and noted the importance of the opening. Eu Chin Fen CEO of Frasers Hospitality joined the executives in the Kagami Biraki ceremony (breaking of a sake barrel) as a symbol that fused global brand and local culture.
United by food, drink and music
Guests were treated to a variety of signature drinks, as well as global bites, inspired by YOTEL’s major cities, in the Komyuniti Bar and Restaurant, which took over the entire first floor. The night culminated with a B2B DJ set from Matcha and Una. With a dynamic fusion between house, techno and disco the night was full of sophisticated energy, channeling the pulse of Tokyo nightlife and the stylish edge that comes with a Ginza fashion event.
