    What to Do on Cape Cod: Where To Eat, Stay and Play

    Sand dunes and salty air New England charm—there’s so much to love about Cape Cod, one of the United States’ most iconic summer destinations. This quiet, locals-only enclave on the eastern Cape is often overlooked by visitors who cross the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges. Lunch is lobster salad stuffed into a huge tomato bowl, like a Panera Bread coastal bread bowl. The baked stuffed lobster is the dinner special. Mudslide, a mixture of Baileys, Kahlua vodka and ice, is the drink to order. (Look around and everyone has one in hand—it’s a tradition.)

    Stop by for a lobsterroll on your way to Surf Drive Beach. Barking Claw, a seasonal stand which serves generous amounts of tail, knuckle, and claw meat Connecticut-style—that’s drizzled in hot melted butter, never mayo. The bread is New England hotdog buns, so it will grill beautifully because of its flat sides. Dinnertime is when the best restaurants are found in this area of Cape Cod. Check out Quarterdeck if you’re looking for a real surf-and turf feast, complete with nautical decor on the walls. Bucatino offers some of best Italian dishes and house-made pastas in the region. If you’re looking for a nightcap after dinner, check out Bad Martha’s Falmouth Brewery The original Martha’s Vineyard store is only open in season. The bar has a rotating selection at all times of 16 different beers, along with a tasty menu of flatbreads.
