    • Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas introduced two new bars to its property as part of an extensive renovation.
    • Peacock Alley is the signature bar of the brand. It serves afternoon tea, has a sundial inspired clock, a bar shaped like a feather, and large floor-to ceiling windows.
    • The Hard Shake cocktail lounge is a modern, contemporary space with a mixology program that’s robust, as well as light bites and a panoramic view of the Las Vegas Strip.
    • The hotel is also planning to renovate 392 guestrooms and relocate the front desk, lobby and the lobby on the ground floor in 2023.

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, named the best hotel in Sin City in 2024 By: Travel + Leisure The 23rd-floor renovation of the Readers Resort continues to be a multimillion dollar transformation. Two new bars have been added.

Peacock Alley – the brand’s signature meeting and bar – and Hard Shake – a lounge offering craft cocktails and views down the Las Vegas Strip – mark the end of another major phase in a property redesign.

Robert Jenny, Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas’ hotel manager told T+L that the Rockwell Group designed spaces are “two distinct experiences” with a hint of Hollywood glamour.

Every Waldorf [Astoria hotel] Jenny explained that everyone has a different interpretation of the clock., Referring to the signature clock in every Peacock Alley pub. We were inspired by the location. A sundial was the obvious choice for us, as we have 320 sunny days. It gives you a feeling of place when you step out of the elevator.

A glass canopy crowns the feather-shaped bar, and a custom-made clear-glass lighting fixture hangs over the lounge between the blue couches and individual chairs.

Here, you’ll find guests enjoying afternoon tea—a collection of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries with the resort’s very own special blended teas, such as The Showgirl, a passionfruit and vanilla black tea, and The Meadows, a crisp, refreshing green tea infused with lemongrass.

Jenny said, “Afternoon tea has a certain sophistication.” It’s so popular, we had to increase the seating capacity in order to meet the demand. This is a peaceful, beautiful place above the noise of the Strip.

Hard Shake, a new cocktail lounge with art deco motifs, is the focus of attention at night. This glitzy lounge is located in the former SkyBar area. It’s all about the cocktails. Hard Shake is a name that comes from the stylized three-point shake technique invented by Japanese bartender Kazuo Uyeda, in which the mixologist folds and rolls the ingredients into the shaker using precise movements. The Katana cocktail, made with Hibiki Harmony Whisky, house-spiced Drambuie, and pecan bitters can be enjoyed alongside light bites while enjoying views of the neon lit Strip.

Jenny explains that “everything we’ve created, from the cocktail menus to the tea choices to the design itself is meant to bring people together, and provide a place for them to exchange stories and gather.”

The hotel renovation began in 2023. floor-to-ceiling redesign of all 392 guest rooms57 new suites will be added, as well as upgrades to the meeting and events space and the relocation of front desk and the lobby to the first floor.
