Montage Laguna Beach has announced the appointment of Victorio Gonzalez as the resort’s managing director. A two-decade Montage Hotels & Resorts veteran, Gonzalez will oversee all daily operations at the resort, collaborating with department managers to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Gonzalez was a founding member of the company in 2003. He served as the director of restaurants for the Montage Laguna Beach opening team before becoming director of food and beverages in 2007. Gonzalez worked as the resort manager for Montage Deer Valley. At Montage Los Cabos he was instrumental in the opening of the first international resort of the company in Mexico. He was appointed as general manager at Pendry San Francisco in 2020 and Montage Big Sky, in 2022. During his tenures there, he won numerous awards for the resorts and their teams including a Forbes Five Star rating in its first year.
Gonzalez worked as the managing partner and founder of Executive Dining Consultants LLC before joining Montage International. The company operated restaurants in Tucson and Arizona and Gonzalez consulted on the opening team for Studio Restaurant Montage Laguna Beach. He has also worked as the general manager of The Bellagio and The Mirage in Las Vegas and The Phoenician at Scottsdale.
Gonzalez holds degrees in classical history from the University of Arizona and economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
