Matt Gaghen is the chief executive officer at Under Canvas. He said that they were “thrilled” to open Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge in the Pacific Northwest. The location reflects their commitment to connect guests to some of the most beautiful natural settings of the United States. Travel + Leisure. The vast landscape is characterized by flowing waterfalls, lush forest, canyons carved out by rivers, with Mount Hood and Mount Adams in the distance. It also offers renowned cultural and wine experiences.
Under Canvas is a well-known brand when it comes to glamping. The company has 12 locations throughout the United States. Many are within walking distance of national parks. This allows guests to enjoy a luxury stay in areas where they might otherwise have to rough-it. Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge The brand’s luxury amenities will be available, including the signature canvas tents in safari style with private decks. There are also West Elm furnishings and en suite bathrooms with showers that have hot water. Under Canvas’ Stargazer tents, which are popular with travelers who want to watch the stars twinkle as they fall asleep, are also available.
It may not be located near a National Park, but the Columbia River Gorge Outpost is within the park. White Salmon is the closest town, with a cute downtown strip. Portland International Airport (PDX), located about 77 mile away, is an hour and a quarter drive from the glamping location. Rent a car in order to reach the site and explore the surrounding area.
The Columbia River Gorge, although not an official park, offers plenty of activities. The gorge offers stunning views of the river canyon, as well as the highest concentration of waterfalls in the U.S. With plenty of hiking, biking, and even kayaking or canoeing opportunities, you’ll never be bored. If you’re not sure what to do, the “experiences team” can help. They can arrange guided hikes through scenic areas, private cooking lessons on nearby farms or guided llama trekking. In addition, 10 wineries are located within a ten-mile radius of Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge.
