Patryk Luszcz is the UK Regional Director at ProfitroomAccording to, hoteliers must remain flexible as inflationary pressures continue in 2025.

Luszcz stated: “Hoteliers in the UK face persistent pressures including inflationary strains and National Insurance increases reshaping trading landscapes as we enter Q2.

This, coupled with the cautious behaviour of consumers and concerns about US tariffs, are pinching margins in UK hotels.

The broader economic situation remains uncertain, even though UK inflation fell to 2.6% in March according to ONS data released last week.

The reality is that these figures are not encouraging.

Hoteliers cannot wait for ideal conditions, as inflation is only a slight improvement. Priority now is adapting and finding smarter ways to do more with less.

While travellers are being more careful with their money, they still have high expectations. They often book for special trips and expect a personalised experience, seamless experiences, and value that is worth the cost.

We are aware of the challenges hotels face in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Budgets are often tight and teams smaller. Although there is no magic bullet, hoteliers can benefit from technology.

Smart systems that automate administration, boost direct bookings and surface actionable information are already proving to be essential. Tech can be a powerful tool when paired with analysts who are focused on your property. This will enable you to run a more cost-effective, resilient and guest-focused operation. This includes automated strategies like creating relevant offers and packages which reflect the latest trends to add perceived value, or F&B offers that align with your inventory.

Loyalty programs have also never been more crucial. Hotels can use them to offer loyal customers personalized deals and lower prices, as well as the opportunity to upsell and boost customer retention.

Profitroom’s team is made up of a large number of former hoteliers who understand the pressures that hotels face every day. Our ear is on the ground and we help each hotel team to streamline operations, increase direct revenue, support their stretched teams.
