    Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

    • Guest rooms—complete with soaking tubs and rainfall showers—occupy floors 54 to 56, offering jaw-dropping views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline and its landmarks.
    • The location of the hotel puts guests in the heart of Bukit Bintang and within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.
    • Vertigo, and Vertigo Too, are rooftop bars that offer a 360° view of the city. They also serve handcrafted cocktails, and tasty snacks.
    • The 53rd floor is home to the outdoor pool, its deck and shaded area. It offers a great view of Petronas Twin Towers.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. It’s a vibrant city with many skyscrapers. Take a walk through Butik Bintang, a neighborhood in the city’s heart. Buskers are everywhere, and crowds spill out onto the streets. While food stands and high-end shops coexist, the buildings tower over people below.

Nestled in the middle of this hive of activity, however, is Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur—a bastion of peace and serenity. The noise was gone as soon as we walked into the hotel and were whisked up on to the 53rd level to check-in. Its elevation is one of the best features of this hotel. Conlay Tower. The hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the views of some of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic buildings. While swimming in the rooftop pool I could see the Petronas Twin Towers. From my room, I had a great view of Kuala Lumpur Tower. Vertigo TOO rooftop bar, which is the highest in Kuala Lumpur, offered a panoramic view of the city.

The hotel is focused on relaxation as well as the breathtaking views. The hotel offers a turn-down aromatherapy service every night, with deep soaking bathtubs and in-room bathing menus. The picture is completed by a full-service spa that offers a wide range of holistic therapies and treatments.

My full review of Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur.

    The Rooms

The Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur offers 55 rooms and suites on the 54th through 56th floors. Some rooms have views of the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Tower. Rooms range in size from 550-720 square feet and suites are 1,000-3,369 square foot.

Relaxation and comfort are key elements of the design—think plush beds with an extensive pillow menu, sleek bathrooms with rainfall showers, large soaking tubs (or plunge pools in select rooms), and comfortable sofas. The suites include extras such as saunas, steam rooms, butlers and home theaters.

The aromatherapy service is available nightly with a changing schedule of scent combinations. (Guests can choose their incenses and candles to create an experience that is uniquely personalized.)

    Food and Drink

The views are not limited to the rooms. Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur’s dining options combine delicious food with stunning scenery. Horizon Grill is located on the 58th Floor with a Patio overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers. It’s led by Chef Francesco Fedrighi, and offers a variety steak and seafood choices. The bone marrow is a great starter, then you can choose between wagyu or lobster as your entree.

The hotel’s new restaurant, Torrito is located on the 53rd level, near the lobby. It brings a Peruvian-Japanese Fusion to Kuala Lumpur. The entire menu was impressive, from the sushi and ceviche to the steak and duck confit. There are also a number of different flavored piscosours on the cocktail list. Don’t miss Bake by Banyan Tree On the ground floor you can enjoy artisan chocolates, pastries and warm breakfast and lunch.

Vertigo AND Vertigo TOO are the two rooftop bars that offer the most spectacular views of the city. Vertigo TOO is the highest rooftop bar of Kuala Lumpur. It offers a 360-degree view of the city skyline. Guests can also enjoy classic cocktails and savory snack at the upper level.

    Activities and Experiences

Banyan Tree rooftop pools offers an excellent view of KL Tower.

It’s impossible to beat the humidity of Kuala Lumpur by taking a swim in its pool. You can do this while sitting on the top floor, where you have a clear view of the Petronas Twin Towers. There is plenty of seating and shade in the lounge area surrounding the pool. The hotel’s spa is located across from the lobby and the gym next door.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur provides many options for in-room relaxation. Bath menus with aromatherapy and bath bombs are available in the bathrooms. The Couples Menu offers rose petals, Champagne and other romantic touches.

The hotel team can also assist in planning city activities such as walking tours or canopy walks at the KL Forest Eco Park.
