Inclu, an accessible travel company, has just launched a platform that helps travelers with disabilities discover hotels. Inclusive Luxury Hotels. The platform showcases hotels that have either been verified (or are currently being verified) and awarded the “Verified by IncluCare status” for both luxury and accessibility. All properties have shown their commitment to “conscious inclusivity”, including for mobility, sensory and neurodivergent travelers.
At launch, the platform features 18 hotels and Resorts in 10 countries. The goal is to grow to 50 properties by 2025.
IncluCare’s Verified by IncluCare program was launched in 2022. This accreditation is granted to service providers who have completed the four-step evaluation, training, and transformation process led by Inclu experts. The program includes an Inclusive Hospitality Assessment of all facilities, services and amenities, a webinar for staff training, suggestions in an “action plan” for improving accessibility and guest inclusivity and promotion of the hotel.
Amilla Maldives was the first Verified By IncluCare Five-Star property. The ranking is given only to hotels or resorts which have consistently demonstrated excellence in inclusiveness for guests over a period of at least 24 month. Some properties may also be awarded the five-star rating on a purely discretionary basis, if they demonstrate exemplary or innovative inclusivity provisions.
Six other properties on the platform have been granted Verified by IncluCare status, including: The Atlantic Hotel in Jersey, England; Euphoria Retreat in Mystras, Greece; Hotel Éclat Beijing in China; La Miniera Pool Villas Pattaya in Thailand; Leopard Walk Lodge in Hluhluwe, South AfricaXimuwu Lodge is located in South Africa’s Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.
In order to be verified, hotels must make their accessible rooms available on the Inclusive Luxury Hotels site and confirm all bookings. This is in contrast to the majority of hotels who offer accessible rooms only on request or are otherwise hard to locate online.
The platform will highlight properties “En Route”, which are currently being verified and have passed the Inclusive Hospitality Appraisal. Eleven properties are currently En Route. These include hotels and resorts located in Costa Rica as well as the U.K.
