    Rio de Janeiro offers 334 hiking paths with an “hikability” score of 100. These hiking trails have it all: mountain views, waterfalls and beach views. State and national parks offer rainforest, beachfront, and state park trails. You can spend an entire weekend in the city and still have new hiking opportunities to explore.

    According to AllTrailsThese are the top five trails that have received the best reviews in Rio de Janeiro.

    1. Vila do Abraão: The 8.4 mile round trip trail takes approximately five hours. The trail ends at Lopes Mendes Beach which is one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches.

    2. Corcovado Trail: The 6.2-mile trail, which is very popular throughout the year, includes attractions like Parque Lage as well as views of Christ the Redemption.

    3. Pedra da Gávea: This 4.6-mile trail offers hiking or rock climbing options up cliff walls.

    4. Trilha T13: The 6.1-mile long trail is open all year round and on clear days offers views of Ilha Grande, Restinga da Marambaia and the restinga.

    5. Pão de Açúcar e Morro da Urca: This 2.2-mile trail provides views of Sugarloaf Mountain. Although it’s short, it has plenty of obstacles making it somewhat challenging.
