Americans are moving out of the cities and into the suburbs.
MoveBuddha’s website, dedicated to relocation, published its top suburbs in the fall of this year. This was after it discovered that its survey on moving to 2025 revealed that one-third of Americans This year, many people are looking to relocate to the suburbs. The team said it was looking for places where movers could find “more square footage, a sprawling backyard, better school, and ultimately just more space to stretch out.” The team added that “not all suburbs are equal.”
To find the best locations to build a suburban home, the team used its proprietary search data. Moving Cost Calculator Discover which suburbs have the highest demand for relocation this year.
The website explains that “These suburbs are the top ones for searches in their metro areas (excluding the primary city) where people search to move from one city to another.” “Our final top dataset highlights the 81 suburbs where there was enough search data.”
Wake Forest University in North Carolina was ranked No.1 after looking at the data. 1 spot.
This once-rural outpost was considered to be far from the hustle of ‘the Triangle’, and this included its charming downtown with red bricks. “That is no longer true. Wake Forest, located less than 12 miles outside of Raleigh, is building on a decade of popularity with the strongest inbound move interest of any suburb—2.64 inbound move searches for every searcher looking to exit.”
All this attention has a downside, however: a rise in prices. According to this website, the average Wake Forest house costs 58 percent higher than the average North Carolina house.
Eagle, Idaho is next with a ratio of inbound 2.78. Maryville, Tennessee follows at 2.58. Two states dominated the list: South Carolina and Texas, each with three positions.
The findings state that the popularity of South Carolina suburbs and Texas suburban areas is part of an overall trend, where Southern states are dominating in-move interests. “Further popular spots such as Boerne, Texas and Greer in South Carolina are located near the edge of our 50-kilometer suburb cutoff. This suggests that movers might be looking for extra space while still staying within commuting distance of a large metro.”
MoveBuddha has noted that these suburbs are not necessarily the most affordable. Springfield, Ohio topped the list of the most affordable cities in the United States. Potential movers can find a home with an average price of $187,200.
