The property has undergone a thorough refurbishment. Walt Disney WorldThe Test Track reopened on April 1st with new scenes, narration, vehicles and queue.
Since 1999, the high-speed thrill ride has been a staple of Epcot. one of the Orlando destination’s most popular rides. Now park visitors can race to what? Disney has called A “reimagined” experience that celebrates the “innovation of today while also highlighting past, present and future.”
General Motors and Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated to create the new Test Track. Riders will first walk through a queue featuring six distinct exhibits that “celebrate the vehicles—and people behind the vehicles—that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey.” Concept cars that are futuristic will be on display.
Riders will experience various scenes on the show board that illustrate “technological progress and how our lifestyles, and relationship to mobility, connect everyone.” The attraction captures the excitement of driving on the open road, while also demonstrating how vehicles view the world. Walt Disney Imagineering used over 29,000 light points to create this effect.
But fans don’t need to worry. The scenic outdoor section, which is a 65-mile-per hour thrill ride, will remain. The guests will exit the ride into an expansive Vehicle Showcase, which displays the latest innovations by General Motors.
The ride has been redesigned to pay homage to its early days. Epcot and its legacy. Visitors will recognize a new musical score that features the theme song “It’s fun to be free” from World of Motion. This attraction once occupied space where Test Track is located today. Its exterior was also given a makeover, inspired by the original Pavilion’s design.
Test Track will have a standard line and one rider. Bookings can also be made through Disney World’s paid expedited queue system. Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Walt Disney World is currently celebrating “Cool Kid Summer” with new experiences that include two all-new stage shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” and a brand-new evening parade at Magic Kingdom Park, “Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away.” Later this year, guests will be able to enjoy a new Pirates of the Caribbean themed tavern at the Magic Kingdom Park, The Beak and Barrel.
