Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe—to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. The 2025 survey was completed by nearly 180,000 T+L subscribers. More than 657,000 votes have been cast in total across 8,700 properties.).
Based on their location, hotels were classified into resort hotel, city, inn or safari lodges. They were also rated according to the following criteria:
- Rooms/facilities
- Location
- Service
- Food
- You can also value
The respondents were asked to rate each characteristic. They could select excellent, superior, average, inferior, or poor. These responses are averaged to arrive at the final score.
What Readers Loved
Paris is a city that has a reputation for having a lot of glitzy, five-star hotels. Travelers who wish to indulge in their City of Light fantasies will be willing to spend big on luxurious stays at the city’s most glamorous addresses. The Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris, No. From the Ritz Paris, (No. 8). The blend of rich heritage and white-glove service won over guests of the storied Hôtel de Crillon, a Rosewood Hotel, which jumped from No. In 2024, the Hotel de Crillon rose from 5th to 2nd place on the list. “The service is unparalleled,” one reader wrote, while another praised the hotel’s “exceptional décor” and its “beautiful historical bones.”
But there were plenty of surprises on this year’s list, too—including Le Royal Monceau—Raffles Paris (No. This year, the list includes a hotel that has not appeared in previous years. Readers are raving over the spa’s sleek design and its art-filled interior. One reader said, “Perfect as ever,” and went on to call it a “Parisian palace”.

This 54-room gembox hotel opened its doors in 2018 and quickly became known as one of Paris’ finest hotels. This is the first hospitality venture from Fauchon, a luxury food store known for its foie gras and chocolates. The rise to No.1 on the list is a reflection of the preferences of visitors to Paris, where food is a major attraction. Sweet treats are layered throughout the stay, from the complimentary macarons scattered throughout public spaces to customized gourmet bars in the guestrooms, and the pops of hot pink décor that decorate the property serve as a nod to the brand’s signature packaging. The hotel’s location was unbeatable and the attentive service impressed guests most. One traveler stated, “It was our pleasure to discover this hotel many years ago.” The staff have become our French family and go above and beyond in helping us.
