Industry reports claim that Norwegian Cruise Line cancelled dozens of cruises between 2026-2027. On social media, travelers have described their own experiences of being notified that a cruise was cancelled.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) recently advised customers it would be canceling dozens of sailings in 2026 and 2027.
As many as 41 different cruises were canceled, as Norwegian modified its schedules for a “fleet redeployment,” according to customer letters viewed by Travel + Leisure. The affected cruises are the Norwegian Prima, which was expected to leave out of New Orleans between Nov. 15, 2026 and March 28, 2027, and the Norwegian Breakaway, which was set to to depart from San Juan from Nov. 8, 2026 through March 28, 2027.
On social media, cruise passengers expressed frustration with the itinerary changes. In one post on RedditA person celebrating the 25th anniversary of their partner’s retirement from military service would have to change their itinerary. The user says, “This trip is special for my family and I want everyone to have a good time.”
Many travelers have also expressed their opinions about the NCL route cancellations and changes in Cruise Critic. message boardOne passenger is “disappointed”.
One person commented, “I get that things happen. However, we’re kind of disappointed because we used 20% off coupon from my husband’s account. We can no longer use it.” “Oh well.”
Despite the fact that cruises were canceled and refunded to passengers, they will still be able to book similar itineraries in 2025. This was stated in letters sent out to guests and partners.
