Every time ballet flats swing back into season, I brace myself—and my feet. Because I get blisters with any shoe, despite how comfortable it is, I spent years searching for the perfect shoe. stylish, comfortable flats I didn’t end up covered in band-Aids. The truth has always come through, even when I tried to prioritize comfort over fashion (sometimes literally thanks to the open-tops of traditional flats). Then I found the Vivaia Round Toe Sneakerina Yanka Flats Everything changed.
Vivaia’s entire brand mission revolves around a question that has long plagued women all over the world: Why don’t fashionable shoes feel the same as sneakers? It set out to create footwear that supports you through everyday life: from the sidewalk to the airport to your next big adventure—and the Sneakerina is living proof they nailed it.

These hybrid flats combine a classic ballet slipper shape with the arch support and cushioning of a shoe, which I’ve been lacking in previous styles. With the familiar low-cut silhouette and no heel, they look like a ballet flat at first glance, but the real magic happens at the top: a satin shoelace tie that adds not just a touch of elegance but adjustability, too—another important support element that flats often forgo.
When I first wore these shoes, they felt like stepping on a memory-foam pillow. They hugged me in all the right spots without a break in period thanks to their suede-like built-in insoles and supportive construction. I’ve worn them on long treks through New York City—a true endurance test—and not a single blister, hotspot, or twinge of pain followed. They are the most comfortable flats that I have ever worn.

Naturally, the travel-loving part of my brain started to spin. The Sneakerinas are now firmly in my suitcase for a trip I’m taking to France this August. The Sneakerinas are foldable and easy to pack. No more worrying about your shoes getting smushed. They also look stylish with all my European outfits. I already have plans to wear them with a floral mid-length dress on a winery tour, an all-white outfit for dinner in Nice and jeans and t-shirts for casual days walking cobblestone streets.
The versatility does not stop there. They’re so versatile that I’ve worn them in countless outfits here in the city. With trousers and a cardigan or a maxi-skirt and blouse. Or jeans and a T-shirt. Each look was effortless. They look more expensive because of the matching color detailing and satin upper.

I went for the white that was crisp, which at first made me nervous. It’s a bad idea to wear white shoes on city streets. Vivaia also had this covered. The Sneakerinas were made of durable upcycled material with a sturdy design that will hold up wash after washing. If they become scuffed, or dirty, which they will be when you travel, you can throw them in the washing machine to make them look brand new. The white is also available in beautiful shades of blue, black and pink. After falling in love the the white I am already tempted by adding another color.
As I was testing the Round-toe Sneakerina YankaVivaia offers a version with square-toes called the Cristina. It combines a timeless design with comfort to create a balletcore look. You can also switch up the look of your Cristinas depending on mood or location (we have even seen them with different laces). Bella Hadid (wearing them)
