The U.S. State Department issued an advisory of Level 2 for Indonesia recently, which means “exercise greater caution.” The U.S. State Department cites “terrorism” and “natural disasters” for its advisory.
The advisory warns that terrorists are continuing to plot possible attacks in Indonesia. “Terrorists can attack without much warning, and may target places of worship, police stations or hotels. They could also target bars, nightclubs, shopping malls, nightclubs or markets.”
The State Department has also issued a Level 4 Alert for Central Papua & Highland Papua because of ongoing protests & demonstrations – and the potential kidnapping or abduction of foreigners.
