On June 2, the city is going to make a difference, with The Treetop Villas at Mirror LakeFour treehouse-style Villas cantilevered 35 ft above the ground, along the shores Mirror Lake, are the newest accommodations in the area.
“I didn’t build treehouses in trees that weren’t there.” Steve Uphoff said that the villas are located in the canopy trees. “You are on a beautiful and quiet lake that was formed 165-years ago, in 1860. You’re in the trees, looking at lush vegetation.
The four villas are divided into three with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The fourth has four bedrooms and four and half bathrooms. The villas also have full kitchens and gas fireplaces. They are large enough to accommodate skis, snowboards and hiking equipment. This part of Wisconsin is known for its outdoor adventures. Chef-catered meals can be served on private patios with firepits. Guests may also choose to end their day by soaking in the outdoor hot tub that faces the lake.
The interiors of the villas, designed by ADCI and inspired by Wisconsin’s most celebrated architect, Frank Lloyd Wright’s, feature an abundance natural materials such as white pine tree trunks. Wright’s Seth Peterson Cottage was completed in 1958 and is located on the opposite side of Mirror Lake.

Wright was also known for the very few square or rectangular rooms and the furniture that was built into his property. Uphoff said that Uphoff’s designers had replicated these unique features. “It has a Frank Lloyd Wright-style flair that is contemporary, but still captures all the elements from the outside while maintaining privacy.”
Nearby the villas, you will find the original 1855 farmhouse. Dawn Manor restaurantThe restaurant, a speakeasy in the style of Antebellum, will open this month following a major renovation. This includes its 170-year old sandstone facade. This 1800s-themed restaurant will offer room service to guests of the treehouse villas.
