The Shoreline Hotel opened its doors in Spring Park (Minnesota) on May 1, the first hotel to be built in Lake Minnetonka in over a century.

A former yacht club, this boutique hotel features 27 rooms including a Presidential Suite, a sandy shore, and a coastal-themed restaurant.

The hotel’s interiors were inspired by its lakefront setting. Each room features quartz countertops, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and pebble tile. The Shoreline Hotel is the only one on the Lake, so all rooms have unobstructed lake views. Families and larger groups can request bunk beds or king suites with sleeper sofas. Kelly Olsen is the owner of the hotel. Travel+Leisure She avoided a nautical “kitschy theme” because she wanted to keep the focus on the lake.

From the inside of a hotel room, you can enjoy sweeping views of a lake.

“Everything in neutral colors. But there are many textures too. […] We did a two-tone paint on the walls—it’s lighter on the top than the bottom. This line draws your attention to the lake more”, Olsen explained.

She decorated the public areas of the hotel with original artwork as a tribute to her late artist husband and is planning to host art exhibits.

Cabana Anna’s is the all-day dining restaurant at the hotel. It’s named after Olsen’s grandmother, who died in 2007. The menu focuses on local and healthy coastal cuisine.

Olsen said, “She was my maid-of-honor at 100 and lived to 104.” “I began to implement all of the Blue Zone Principles in the hotel as a tribute to my grandmother.”

The Shoreline provides guests with access to its 32-slip Marina for those arriving by boat. Olsen stated that “some of the slips will be available to guests for overnight parking or boat up traffic, and others are reserved for seasonal rentals.” “I want people feel comfortable coming off their boats for happy hour, or to get ceviche and sit on the beach.”

Minnesota is a state that has a lot to offer. renowned for its lakes This is the only Twin Cities hotel with a lake. It has many cabins on the lakefront. “We’re just 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis.” Olsen continued, “I believe there will be many people who choose to stay here.”

The hotel deck is furnished with lounge chairs and couches.
