As a Floridian who lives in sandals year-round, I am accustomed to wearing them. When it’s hot, I don’t want to wear socks or sneakers. Sandals may seem too light and unsupportive for long-distance walking. However, I have found that they are just as comfortable as sneakers. They can also be a stylish, yet comfortable, alternative to heels on an evening out. Packing versatile sandals can save you a lot of luggage space if you only have a carry-on.
Comfortable walking sandals do exist, and no, they don’t all look like clunky podiatrist-prescribed orthopedic shoes. As a former cruise ship performer and current travel writer, I’ve tested dozens of sandals in my lifetime—and I own more than 30 pairs at this moment. I wore Kuru sandals Sarasota is 66 acres. John & Mabel Ringling Museum of Art, which includes the Ca’ d’Zan, the Circus Museum, Bayfront Gardens, and the Ca’ d’Zan. The Lomas provided the perfect shoes for all that walking. It takes several days to see the entire campus, but with comfortable shoes, you can do it in one day.
I was initially reluctant to invest in a platform sandal because I prefer thin, lightweight and packable sandals that save me space and weight. Platform soles are made from a foam-like, lightweight material.

One other important aspect that I found was the Kuru Lomas It’s the way that they hugged my heel each time I took an step. The platform material is flexible and flexes in order to absorb the impact. As our heels are first to hit the ground while walking, they absorb the majority of the impact.
These shoes also had an impressive arch support. My arches are so high that they don’t even touch the ground while I am standing, which is why I need to wear shoes with a lot of arch support. The same design that cups the heel of my shoe when I wear these also provides arch support. Kuru platform sandals Also, they support my arches well enough to wear them all day. The flexible and adjustable straps add to the comfort, as I can adjust the fit of the shoe without it being too tight or too loose. The elastic cross strap of the Lomas shoes is ideal because it allows my foot to move freely without any rubbing that can cause blisters.
The cork footbed of the Loma shoe wicks moisture away, adding to its overall comfort. This is because it prevents wet and sweaty feet, which can cause blisters.
What is the value of Kuru Loma Sandals?
Since I toured the Ringling Museum in Florida, I’ve worn them more on uneven terrain and daily walks. The sandals remain one of my most comfortable pairs. The Velcro strap has started to wear out with heavy usage, so I would love to see an option of a buckle for durability.
As a sandal enthusiast with high standards for comfort and arch support, I can attest to the fact that the Kuru Lomas It’s worth buying. If you are going to be walking around all day in hot weather, I would recommend these shoes.
