There are still plenty of options for summer vacations, but you have to act quickly.
The price of flights is dropping by as much as 10 percent over the Fourth-of-July weekend. Travel booking site revealed the findings Kayak’s annual Travel Check-In.
Travelers can also save more money by planning their vacations to coincide with certain weeks, according to the booking site. Kayak data showed that the best times to book domestic airfare are between May 19-June 8, and August 11-31, while the best time for international airfare is between Aug. 4-31.
An analysis of data shows that international travelers can save on average $546 if they delay their trip between the peak date of international summer travel (June 9) and the cheapest day of August 25, which is the cheapest.
Kayak’s report said: “In an environment where prices are on the rise almost everywhere, summer travel can offer significant and rare savings.”
Atlanta and Tampa are the best places for travelers to get ideas about destinations. Average airfares in these cities is $262. Raleigh, North Carolina, Fort Myers and Orlando are the next cheapest cities with roundtrip airfares under $293.
Toronto has also reduced the prices of international destinations. MontrealSan Salvador, El Salvador and Mexico City all saw a decline in airfare. All international flights cost less than $420 roundtrip.
Sydney saw the biggest drop in prices this summer with a saving of $307 when compared to 2024.
Travelers who are frequent travelers will not be surprised by the most popular summer destinations around the world. London is ranked first, followed by Tokyo, Paris, RomeOrlando, Florida.
