Bermuda is usually divided into two sections, east and West, with Hamilton being in the center. The majority of luxury resorts are located in Hamilton or the east, but the historic hotel can be found on the quieter side. It completed a full revamp in 2023 that brought the resort’s iconic pink cottages, four bars and restaurants, two-tiered pool, and expansive grounds that include four private beaches have been brought into the 21st century—no small feat since some architectural details date back to the 1600s. The 86 newly renovated cottages feature a coral and seafoam-green color scheme, statement dark wood beds, quirky rattan chair, and boldly printed textiles. In the renovated pool area, you’ll find pastel-colored scalloped parasols and cosy lounge chairs. There is also a shell-encrusted restaurant and bar. The brand new Sunken Harbor Club, an outpost of Brooklyn’s same-named bar, is decorated with shipwreck items rescued by late Bermudian diving icon Teddy Tucker. There is a menu of Bermudian food, such as wild boar stuffed with plantain and shark hash. Classic island cocktails are also available.
