Christine Sun Kim: All Day All Night This exhibition features drawings, sculptures, murals and site-specific artwork by the titular artist. Kim’s preoccupation is musical notation. This includes both written English and her native American Sign Language. Amy Sherald: American SublimeThe exhibition will feature around 50 Sherald paintings, ranging from the much-loved Michelle Obama portrait, to older, contextualizing pieces.

Gagosian
New York’s art galleries are often overshadowed by its museums. However, they have many (free!) There are many art exhibits that you should check out. Gagosian, located at 555 West 24th Street in Chelsea (if you are unsure), is currently hosting a Willem de Kooning show called Endless Painting. Cecilia Alemani is giving a talk about her expressive curation in paintings and two sculptures, on May 15th.

Brooklyn Museum
Breaking the Mold: Brooklyn Museum at 200 This is what it seems to be. This exhibition, which will open on February 28 and run until February 22, 2026 reflects on not only the institution’s two-century history but also the artistic traditions and legacies of the borough as a whole since the 17th Century. The story is about Brooklyn, the museum that houses it, and its Beaux-Arts-style building. The 200-plus photograph strong is another short-lived attraction. New York Transit Museum
New Yorkers use the subway every day, whether they like it or hate it. If you’re visiting the city, you should take it at least once to understand how the people that live here get around—it’s what makes the city so accessible. Why not take the subway to Brooklyn’s New York Transit Museum? It’s located off the 4/5 trains at Borough Hall, as well as the A, C, F, and M trains at Jay Street MetroTech. The Subway Is… In celebration of the Metro’s 120th Birthday. This is done with artifacts and photographs as well as multimedia installations which highlight the history of our subway since its October 27,1904 opening. There is also a Halloween event that runs through October 26. Commentary on the Commute: A Century of The New Yorker’s Transportation Cartoons This publication was launched to coincide with its 100th anniversary. This collection of cartoons, covers and other artwork features the works of 57 contributors to the magazine who found inspiration from the city’s public transport over the last 100 years.
