Singita Serengeti House is a private villa located in Tanzania’s Grumeti Reserve. It reopened recently after undergoing extensive renovation. The design team was inspired by the natural surroundings, and they used a neutral color palette, as well as materials and textures like linen, clay and grass.
African artwork is displayed in every room. Most of the art and furnishings were imported from Africa, showcasing local talent. WomenCraftTanzanian beadwork based on aerial images of villages Sidai Designs; Dunia Design Recycled plastic installations that mimic the phases of the Moon. Cape Town’s designers even designed the mosquito nets. Beagle & Basset Mirror the geometric patterns on the stone walls.
The villa has four suites, two of which are attached to the main house. Two others are separate cottages. There are also shared spaces such as a living room, media room, kitchen and wellness suite. Outside, guests can enjoy the tennis court of the house, the 82-foot swimming pool with a view of the savannah and the decks equipped with daybeds.
Singita Serengeti can accommodate eight guests. Children are also welcome. Children can explore the Mini Rangers Course where they learn about animals and astronomy. Singita’s in-house travel service can create personalized itineraries that could feature game drives at dawn and dusk, showcasing the Grumeti region’s incredible wildlife—from the Big Five to rare Colobus monkeys—with expert guides to bring the landscape to life through stories and tracking expertise. In addition to wildlife encounters, guests may also take part in yoga sessions, partake in wine experiences and visit nearby communities.
