[Kefalonia] We know where we are going and we just know. No need to acclimatize. We are familiar with the restaurants and the areas of the beach we enjoy. Last year, we spent two weeks in Asia, touring Korea and Japan. This was an activity-based holiday. As a genuine tourist, we visited temples and other sites. When we can, we also like to do this. Kefalonia suits those holidays where we want to relax and just sit. The island is quite cultural, it’s got a lot of history—there are amazing caves there. Myrtos is a very famous beach. They shot Captain Corelli’s Mandolin There; it is set there. For us, it is a place to do nothing.
What he does with his flight time
Now I have a flying ritual. I always dress comfortably and wear trousers with drawstrings so that I don’t have to remove my belt at security. I love to sit down and watch movies. It’s heaven for me if all I do is watch films. I watch movies that I would not necessarily watch in the cinema or classics I love as a comfort. I can sleep on a plane As well. When I’m flying at night, I put the bed down the moment the seatbelt sign goes off. Do not eat your dinner. Instead, go straight to bed. Then wake up at the first announcement in the morning about our landing. It’s one of my favorite things to do.
The area in the U.K. that he believes more travelers should visit:
There’s a lot of ancient history on this island. You can visit any town in the world and find a remnant of an ancient Roman settlement, or another cultural civilization. Even in the little town where I grew up—Gloucester in the southwest of England—there are glass viewing platforms where you can look down into Roman baths. The lakes in the north of England are beautiful. The lakes are beautiful. Lake District It’s beautiful. It is very dramatic and different from the rest of the UK. Driving up the M6 along the lakes on the way to London was a real pleasure. The north of Scotland has always been a favorite. Scotland is as different geographically to England as any other European country—as is Wales, funnily enough, which might be why that landmass was separated in the way that it was back when we invented countries. It’s a majestic view on the west coast, from Loch Lomond to Loch Shiel and Skye.
What he is looking for in a Hotel:
I am constantly thinking about it, and I have certain checkpoints for myself. really good hotelI would like to see power outlets near the bed. Ideally, they should be USB directs, and not occupied by clocks or other bedside items. I do not like a clock on the bedside that emits light. It’s better to have real coat hooks, and not those anti-theft ones. They always seem like a passive aggressive statement by the hotel, “You will steal our coathangers.” This is insulting. The cord should be already threaded on the bathrobe. I dislike it when the cord is left on the floor after the bathrobe has been folded up nicely. This can be frustrating if you’ve just gotten out of the shower. Pump-action products are my favorite. When you’re washing your hair and have to remove the lid, it can be frustrating. [I prefer] When they are mounted on the walls and it is something nice like Molton brown, something of high class. I enjoy a turndown. It’s great to return to my room to find everything ready for bed, with soft lighting and maybe even a chocolate or spray on the pillow. A good restaurant and room service available 24/7. Yes, I am not high-maintenance.
