This family-run restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Edinburg. Norris says, “It is where chefs eat,” praising the excellent food that Shenandoah County offers and its warmth.

When is the best time to visit?

Shenandoah County comes alive in the late spring and early fall months (May-October) with outdoor concerts, festivals, and farm fresh flavors. Spring brings pink apple blossoms with ideal hiking weather. Summer offers winery tours, adventure on the river and quiet nights beneath the stars.

Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is held between mid-July through Labor Day weekend. This timeless tradition has attracted artists and visitors for over 60 years. Autumn is the season of vibrant foliage, apple pickers, and community events. Edinburg Ole Time FestivalShepherd describes this event as “a jewel of an occasion” that celebrates local artisans, music, and food. 

Shenandoah’s seasons are all worth experiencing, whether you come for the music, views of the mountains, or a slower pace in a small town.

What to do and where to go

Shenandoah County, located 90 minutes west from Washington, D.C., is an ideal weekend getaway via I-66 and I-81. Dulles International Airport offers the best access for those who are flying in. The scenic drive through Virginia’s Wine Country is also available.

The best way to see the country is by car. There are many scenic roads, vineyards, small towns and stunning views around every bend.
