    • Scandinavian Airlines relaunched their route from Seattle, Washington to Copenhagen.
    • Business class seats on flights come with a lie-flat bed and four-course meal, as well as an entertainment system with new movies.
    • Travelers can easily reach the rest of Denmark, and Northern Europe from Copenhagen.

On May 21, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) relaunched a long-haul flight connecting Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) with Copenhagen Airport (CPH) after a 16-year-long pause. The flight will operate five days per week during the SAS summer schedule—but I was lucky enough to snag a business-class seat On the first flight.

Paul Verhagen – executive vice president, chief commercial officer, Scandinavian Airlines – says: “The Seattle to Copenhagen route is a very popular destination.” Travel + Leisure. Washington State has deep Scandinavian ancestry, and many of its residents can trace their roots back to DenmarkThis creates a natural demand for both leisure and family travel.” “This creates a natural demand for leisure and family travel.”

The trip started with a lounge visit, just as any business-class journey should. While there isn’t an SAS lounge in Seattle, the airline is a part of the SkyTeam airline alliance, so I got access to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport’s Delta Sky Club. You can enjoy a drink at the bar or small snacks like caprese, clam chowder and chicken sliders from the buffet.

Although the Delta Sky Club was located in Concourse A and the flight was scheduled to depart from Concourse S, it was easy to move between terminals, thanks to the SEA Underground—trains leave every three minutes and there was no need to go through security again.

The celebrations began near the entrance, with historic photos of the original first SAS flight from Seattle-Copenhagen.

The Airbus 350-900 is considered to be one of the most modern wide-body aircraft. It is much quieter, and its air pressure is less than that of other planes. You’ll only feel like you are at a maximum altitude of 5,500 feet. All of this means you’ll have a better experience and less jet-lag.

The local fire department and airport staff gave us a warm welcome before our flight took to the skies. Rocky Mountains. CanadaFinally, we crossed the Atlantic.

I’ve It is not necessary to be a member of the? SAS Business Class is a far cry from the economy class.

I was in the middle of an aisle in the business class section, which was arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seats were large and comfortable, and there were buttons to adjust the angle, height and cushion level. The overhead storage was ample, and there was also a handy area near my feet to store any other items. It was also nice to have a shelf with a drink holder for all the random items I brought on my flight.

Over-the-ear headsets were available for watching movies with the oversized, very deluxe entertainment console. There was a wide range of entertainment options, including new movies like “Nosferatu,” or “A Complete Unknown”.,” The Brutalist, “Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf”, “Cool Hand Luke” and “Dumb and Dumber” are all available.

The tail-view camera is one of the best perks to flying an A350-900. You can enjoy the view from your seat as you fly over mountains, rivers and oceans. It was difficult to get any work done, let alone load a web page.

In addition to the usual business class swag bag—packed with an eye mask, face cream, a toothbrush, and socks—passengers on this inaugural flight also received a small bag filled with things like Scandinavisk-branded hand cream, white chocolate truffles, and a commemorative luggage tag. Skog gave each passenger a “boreal wood” soy candle that smelled just like a stroll through the pines.

Scandinavian Airlines offers a business-class menu that is filled with Scandi-inspired food. Flight attendants “set” the table for each meal by placing a napkin down on the tray.

Dinner consisted of four courses: a starter course, a main dish, a cheese platter, and a desert. I started with the burrata and basil salad. It was a lovely springtime combination of tomatoes, burrata, and basil. A sweet balsamic sauce was served on the side. The grilled chicken miso was served with hot rice, radish and bokchoy that were perfectly cooked. For dessert there was fresh fruit, a cheese board with a large slice of delicious blue cheese.

Breakfast consisted of overnight oats with a shashuka-infused egg and a smoothie. It was easy to sleep with a luxury comforter by the Swedish linen brand Dux.

The multiple feasts, the movies and the many films to watch soon had me in Copenhagen. Since I felt so well-rested from my flight, it was easy to hit the ground running—and that’s exactly what SAS intends.

Copenhagen Airport serves as a hub for Scandinavian destinations, and is also a gateway into northern Europe. After this flight, I hopped on a couple of short plane rides to Bergen, Norway (a direct route from Copenhagen to Bergen is available), and spent a few days exploring the country’s breathtaking fjords by car—the transition from one of the region’s most bustling cities to one of the most remote and idyllic areas was smooth and easy.

Verhagen says, “This route offers travelers an efficient and seamless journey between North America to Europe.” “Schedules were designed to maximize SAS’s network connectivity, providing one-stop travel to and from 39 European destinations via Copenhagen.”

Northern Europe is now just a short (and luxurious) flight from residents of the West Coast and Pacific Northwest.
