Sabre Corporation is a global leader in travel technology. Today, it activated the New Distribution Capability content (NDC) of Air France and KLM on its travel marketplace. The Sabre-connected agency can now take advantage of exclusive promotions, better fares and extra options thanks to the continuous pricing for Air France and KLM.
NDC is an important enabler for modern retailing. It allows airlines to create and deliver personalized offers that go beyond static fare structures. Through this collaboration with Sabre, Air France and KLM can provide richer content and more competitive price points in the indirect channel, while Sabre-connected travel agencies benefit from seamless access to this content via Sabre’s Offer and Order APIs, Sabre Red 360, Sabre Red Launchpad,™ as well as a range of online booking tools.
“Integrating NDC with Sabre represents a significant milestone in Air France-KLM’s distribution strategy,” said Angus Clarke EVP, Chief Commercial Officer. This allows us the opportunity to provide better fares through continuous pricing, special promotions, extra options and innovative offers such as Seat and Extra Bundles. Sabre-connected agents offer a wide range of choices to their customers, while they also provide our agency partners with real-time information on our best offers.
Sabre’s approach to multi-source content integrates NDC with traditional options. This makes it easier for travel agents to compare and book different airline retail models. By unifying the content sources, agencies are able to more efficiently manage and book a wider variety of offers while not increasing their workload.
Roshan Mendis said that Air France and KLM’s NDC implementation reflects a move towards a flexible, modern distribution environment. Sabre’s focus is on enabling intelligent retailering with multi-source contents, so that agencies can easily browse, book and service NDC in conjunction with other content. This collaboration confirms our vision of a marketplace in which airlines can offer personalized offers to travelers at scale while agencies continue to be at the forefront delivering value.
This activation is a part of Sabre’s ongoing investment to expand NDC capabilities in support of the entire travel eco-system. Sabre aggregates ATPCO/EDIFACT content, low-cost carrier content, and NDC, integrating and normalizing it. This gives Sabre-connected agents a seamless, single workflow to compare, shop, and book. Sabre provides access to NDC from more airlines than other major GDS.
