You should never visit a place expecting to find it referred to as “the Venice “The South” New York “The West Coast.” I was forced to stay in the city for a friend’s marriage. Ontario’s Prince Edward County I was sucked into a false preconception earlier this summer: that a sleepy agrarian area would be buzzing with the same creative spirit I felt bubbling in the Hudson Valley It was 15 years back.

There have been many changes in CanadaPrince Edward County, rural (not be confused with Prince Edward Island( in recent years. The pandemic forced people to move out of the cities and into rural areas. This sparked a renewed interest in destinations that offer a breath of fresh air, wide open spaces, and all this within an easy hop, skip and jump away from the major metropolises. Prince Edward County—affectionally called The County by locals—offered all of the above, ideally situated roughly halfway between Canada’s two largest cities of Toronto You can also find out more about the following: Montréal.

Prince Edward County, Canada, was once known for its tomato-canning industry and some popular freshwater beach resorts. It also had a reputation of being a place that slipped under the radar. In the 1980s and 90s, artists, creatives, and winemakers began to settle in the area. The County, which is an island, has one of the best climates in Canada for vine planting. As 2020 approached, this pre-existing trend was reaffirmed, and the county became one of Canada’s most exciting tourist destinations. County has more chefs, artists and makers of every kind than ever.

Prince Edward County’s magic isn’t just the glamour of being a popular destination at the moment. The County is still a relaxed place despite its newfound energy. You can taste natural wines in barns that are centuries old. You can also find out more about the following: You can find great food everywhere, but the simple pleasures of riding through orchards on a bike and swimming in Lake Ontario are still as appealing and as personal as before the cool kids discovered this area. Discover the best of Prince Edward County.

    Getting around Prince Edward County

It’s a place where you need to have a car. You can take Via Rail Canada up to Belleville and take an Uber to Picton. From there, you can rent bikes to explore the area. But without a car, you’ll have a hard time really grasping the scale of the County, which is about 23-miles-long and 33-miles-wide—and the long country roads here make for excellent road tripping. The best attractions in Picton and Bloomfield are only a scenic 25-minute drive away.
