PortmanThe Westin Cincinnati is a full service hotel with 456 keys located in Fountain Square, downtown Cincinnati. This is the first hotel purchase for the company and marks the launch of their value-add strategy.

The hotel is located near the top entertainment venues of the city including the Paycor Stadium and Great American Ball Park. It also offers easy access to the Duke Energy Convention Center as well as the Contemporary Arts Center. The hotel has 456 rooms, suites and more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space. It has a restaurant, bar and fitness studio on site.

Kaunteya chitnis is the managing director of hospitality at Portman. She said, “The Westin Cincinnati offers us a great opportunity to build long-term value by investing in and improving our operations.” “We are excited to leverage our 70-year heritage in hospitality to help shape this great American City’s future.”

Portman’s commitment in Cincinnati is further strengthened by the acquisition, including serving as master developer of the new convention district headquarters hotel that anchors the $828-million Convention District redevelopment. Marriott was recently announced as the official partner of the 700-key full-service hotel. Public and private reinvestment in Downtown Cincinnati continues, as does the demand for quality hospitality.

Portman has acquired a second Westin property in Cincinnati. It is part of a larger collaboration, which includes Marriott-affiliated properties. Portman now has seven hotels in five different markets with more than 3,000 total rooms, and assets worth more than $1 billion. Portman’s new strategy includes actively searching for acquisition opportunities in key U.S. markets.
