Frederick, MD – Plamondon Hospitality Partners is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of a critical parcel of land in Downtown Frederick, Maryland, marking a transformative step forward in realizing the vision for their full-service hotel and conference center. The deal was finalized on June 12 and allows the Frederick-based hospitality company to begin construction on the project in the second half of this year. It also solidifies their commitment to bring new energy, economic vibrancy, and hospitality excellence into the heart Frederick.
We can now move forward with the next phase, as we have secured the ownership of the land. This purchase represents more than just land—it’s the final piece needed to move from planning into action. We are grateful for the Randalls’ support and help in getting us to this point. Peter Plamondon, Jr., Vice-President at Plamondon Hospitality Partners
The land, which was owned by the Randall Family in the past, is now part of an even larger site that the City of Frederick identified through a RFP for a public/private hotel and conference centre. The project has been moving forward through a complex, collaborative process that involves local and state officials.
The next crucial milestone is possible once the land is owned: the groundbreaking. We’re grateful to all of our State County and City Partners for their unwavering confidence in what the hotel and Conference Center will mean for this region. Jeff Plamondon is Director of Real Estate and Business Development for Plamondon Hospitality Partners
Plamondon has not purchased the land for the Eagles Building nor the Trolley Building. These structures are managed and owned separately by the Randalls. The building at 200 East Patrick Street, which was once a trolley stop, is currently being transformed into a commercial mixed-use space. It’s expected to be completed in 2026. Meanwhile, 216 E Patrick Street—the former home of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles—will become The Banyan, a new restaurant, event venue, and rooftop bar. The land acquired around these sites will become the footprint for the hotel and conference centre, making it an integral part of the broader vision.
Since 208 years, the Randall family owned a portion of 200 E Patrick Street. This property is now a part a redevelopment that we are very excited about. Plamondon Hospitality Partners, my family and I are working with officials at all levels of government to make sure this project is successful and contributes to Downtown Frederick’s growth and development. William Randall, president of Randall CAP
The future hotel and conference center will fill a long-recognized gap in Frederick’s hospitality and event infrastructure by offering much-needed, high-quality space for conferences, weddings, conventions, and corporate gatherings—all with on-site overnight accommodations.
Frederick is in need of something new.
Peter Plamondon. The hotel and conference center will have a meaningful impact on the city, county, and region—which is exactly why leaders at every level have chosen to invest in the project. Owning the land is the final major hurdle in the process and allows us the opportunity to make this vision a reality.
