The resorts in this area celebrate nature from the activities they offer (whitewater skiing, snowmobiling), to their design (outdoor fireplaces, floor-to ceiling windows). Resorts located in popular vacation spots like Vail and Telluride offer easy access to ski slopes during winter, as well as hiking and biking trails in warmer weather. The resorts offer a high level of hospitality, with dependable service.

    What Readers Loved

    T+L liked the resorts in Colorado that capitalized on its all-season appeal. They also provided impeccable service. This often means offering guests a range of ways to experience the outdoors. No. The staff at the No. WBA voters describe their stay as “pure magical”. Broadmoor’s (No. The No. 6 in Colorado Springs has a falconry school that offers lessons to beginners and intermediates.

    WBA voters are also drawn to the mountain towns of Colorado. Four properties are in Aspen amid its world-class art and dining scenes. The Little Nell is located in the heart of town, within easy walking distance from some of the city’s finest restaurants. It has 92 suites and rooms. “You cannot go wrong here”, says one reader. It’s gorgeous and the staff are incredible. You can easily access the mountain to view it and enjoy the apres. You can watch people and walk easily to the Snow Lodge if you want a party on a cold day.

    This mountain-chic retreat is surrounded by stunning “14ers” and impresses both with its refined style and its ability to add a lux twist to classic alpine activities. All 153 of the rooms and suites are designed in a chalet-style aesthetic, combining neutral colors, jewel tones and Western motifs. Guests can choose from a variety of exciting excursions to explore the wilderness. You can take on the Via Ferrata. Hop in a 4×4 and go for a backcountry tour. Paddleboard over the calm waters of Trout Lake or Wild Boy Lake. Trek into Box Canyon to enjoy a guided hike with tea ceremony.
