Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe—to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. The 2025 survey was completed by nearly 180,000 T+L subscribers. More than 657,000 votes have been cast in total across 8,700 properties.).

Respondents could rate each characteristic as excellent, above the average, average or below average. These responses are averaged to arrive at the final score.
Asia Resorts: Readers’ Favorite Resorts
There was fierce competition for the top Asia position, with less two points between the top 10. The T+L readership favored properties located in Southeast Asia. Indonesia, Vietnam and India received nearly 75 percent.
The Mulia Bali (No. The number six hotel was hailed by many readers as the “best hotel in the entire world” for its “brilliant service,” “comfort, luxury and amazing service.” The Mandapa, Ritz-Carlton (No. 3) in Bali got high marks, too, with one reader saying: “Feels like heaven—completely immersed in nature far from the overtourism in Bali.”

One reader said, “I love the architecture and the views of the water villas.” The dreamy property is decorated by sculptures, art installations, and paintings from international artists. Also, readers were drawn to the food and service. One reader said: “I love their focus on female empowerment, and the service details.” Saoke, the Japanese-Peruvian dining room, is located in a beautiful villa designed Noriyoshi Muramatsu.
