Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe—to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Nearly 180,000 readers of T+L completed the survey for 2025. Over 657,000 votes were cast for over 8,700 different properties (hotels cities cruise lines etc.).).

Perry Lane, the No. 1 choice of Savannah readers since 2023 and the only 167-key hotel in Savannah, feels like an icon for hospitality in the city despite the fact that it opened in 2018 with just seven years. The checkerboard flooring and dignified woodwork go well with the Spanish Moss-draped address in Savannah’s Historic District. While the amenities reflect Savannah’s past, they also reflect its present, such as rooftop bocce or the contemporary art collection. Readers like the “easy walking” location between Chippewa Square & Colonial Park Cemetery. They also appreciate the free car service provided by Perry Lane to take them to the riverfront. The property is large both physically (422 guests rooms in a 24-story building) and metaphorically. Buckhead society gathers on the banquettes adorned with crystals of the “terrific Americano Restaurant”. The InterContinental, according to readers, is now better than ever following its renovation in 2022. However, it still retains its Southern hospitality. This is a difficult vibe to achieve in a large hotel, which is why one reader described the staff as “warm and friendly.”
