Las Vegas With a new interactive feature, the city is taking full advantage of its status as a premier grand prix destination. In May, race fans in Sin City can experience the thrills and excitement of high-speed racing at a brand new track.
Las Vegas held its first Grand Prix in 2023 and the night race became popular. an over-the-top spectacle Drivers speeding along the neon-lit Las Vegas Strip, curving past the iconic Sphere. Now, fans can share in the excitement.
F1 Drive allows visitors to get behind the wheel in a custom kart equipped with Drag Reduction System Technology and an LED display on the steering wheel that records lap times, and gaps between racers. The karts are designed so that they feel like they’re going faster than the 30 miles per hour maximum speed.
In order to create the most realistic experience possible, drivers hear engine sounds recorded during the Formula 1 2023 season. They also receive radio communications live from a virtual race engineer in their helmets who will give them track updates and provide overtaking strategies just like they are actually racing.
Three race packages are available to drivers. Mixed Grid, which allows children over 12 to participate in two 15 minute sessions at a lower speed ($79), is ideal for newbies or families. The Elite Experience includes a podium ceremony for the three top finishers and lets racers reach full speeds during two 15 minute track sessions. The third option, Fastest Lap, is a timed event where drivers are able to try and beat their own personal best.
The 1,696 foot course is a challenging challenge with 31 turns. It has both indoor and outdoors sections, including a tiny sliver from the real grand prix circuit. F1 Drive will be the first of its kind to open in North America. It is scheduled to open on May 2nd.

F1 Drive is part of the new 39-acre Grand Prix Plaza–a space with three ticketed attractions, interactive exhibits, a gift store and restaurant. Fans can also explore the history and artifacts of Formula 1 at the museum. They can build their own racecar in the design studio and participate in a Pit Wall Challenge, where they make race decisions about tire changes, pitstops, and team strategy in a fast-paced simulator.
F1 Drive is launching on May 2 in the Grand Prix Plaza. It will be available Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 10pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to midnight. Tickets can be purchased at GrandPrixPlaza.com.
