Nizar Weshah is now Hyatt’s Vice President for Saudi Arabia. He will also continue to be the general manager of Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences.

Weshah, in his expanded role, will oversee Hyatt’s performance, expansion and operational strategies across the Kingdom. He will also be responsible for portfolio development, marketing positioning, and operational efficiency at both existing properties and upcoming ones.

Weshah is a senior leader with over 26 years experience in international hospitality. He has worked in Jordan, Azerbaijan Serbia, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

He has spent the last 17 years working with Hyatt in Riyadh Jeddah Al Khobar. His focus is on operational efficiency and guest service standards. He also mentors Saudi nationals in order to create a pipeline of talent for the industry.

Hyatt explained that the appointment was in support of its Vision 2030 commitment, prioritising sustainable development, local talent development and tourism innovation. The company intends to increase its presence in Saudi Arabia by strengthening local partnerships, appointing leadership and focusing on performance.

Saudi Arabia’s growing tourism sector is a major factor in the growth of the country. Large-scale infrastructure investments and large-scale development are boosting this sector. Weshah’s expanded role will help Hyatt play a part in this growth.
