This morning, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence opened the new edition (GETEX 2025) of the Global Education and Training Exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This event, which is the UAE’s most-attended education and training exhibit this year, provides a platform for professional development and education, and brings together local and foreign academic institutions. The exhibition continues until May 2
Speak at the event, His Excellence Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan stated that GETEX, now in its fourth edition, continues to be a pioneer in empowering students in shaping their academic and career futures. The exhibition, he said, represents the UAE’s vision to invest in human capital and promote lifelong learning. It also provides an advanced education environment aligned with modern technologies and global transformations.
He continued: “We are delighted to see the diverse range of academic and career opportunities being showcased this year at the exhibition, which includes traditional disciplines as well as applied programs and future-oriented paths aligned to the evolving job markets.” This is due to the UAE’s increasing status as a hub of global education. Flexible policies, high quality academic institutions, and an unwavering commitment to innovation, development, and research are driving this.
His Excellency also noted that this effort is part of the UAE national agenda under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the UAE to build a society based on knowledge and equip future generation with the tools for tomorrow. He affirmed that the UAE—both its leadership and people—remains committed to supporting education and preparing a generation capable of advancing national progress and contributing to humanity through knowledge and competence.
He added: “We are grateful for the effort invested in organizing this important exhibition and look forward to its serving as an inspiration for all young men and women striving for excellence within a world that is constantly changing.”
GETEX, a three-day event, allows thousands of students and their parents to interact with representatives from 30 different countries. Attendees have the opportunity to learn about international education, study abroad destinations, and visa requirements. They can also apply on site for university admission.
In light of major changes in global education policies—particularly the tightening of international student visa regulations in traditional destinations such as the UK, US, Australia, and Canada—GETEX highlights alternative study opportunities in Europe, the CIS countries, Malaysia, India, and Pakistan. The event is a mix of traditional, nontraditional, and academic programs that are future-focused.
The UAE is emerging as a major beneficiary of this global shift, thanks to its flexible university admission policies, internationally-aligned quality standards, advanced technology integration in both public and private sectors, outstanding public safety record, and excellent global connectivity—all of which make it an increasingly attractive destination for international students.
GETEX, now in its 41st year of existence, is the largest and oldest education-focused trade show in the region. Over the years it has successfully adjusted to the changing global education landscape. This allows students to make informed choices about their academic and career futures.
GETEX 2020 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Zabeel 6 from April 30 to may 2. Entry is completely free.
