    When visiting Grand Canyon National ParkThe South Rim is the most popular destination for visitors. A stretch of road east of Grand Canyon Village offers stunning views with fewer tourists. Desert View Drive is a scenic 25-mile route along Arizona Highway 64. It’s a quiet wonder for those who are willing to venture off the most popular paths.

    Desert View Drive begins in Grand Canyon Village, and stretches past the East Entrance to the park. It leads you to some of canyon’s best views. Lipan Point’s golden light is particularly beautiful at sunrise or sunset. Moran Point has dramatic views from the Canyon Walls. It is named after landscape artist Thomas Moran. Colorado River Winding through ancient rock structures. Grandview Point was once a copper mine in the 19th century. Visitors can now enjoy panoramic views and the Grandview Trail that was originally constructed to haul ore from the canyon.

    The landmarks of the city include the Desert View WatchtowerThe’s feel like a natural extension to the landscape. This 70-foot-high stone structure was inspired by ancient Puebloan Architecture. It is the highest point in the park and has only 85 steps to reach the top. The murals inside honor the Native American heritage of the area. Navajo Point, located adjacent to the Canyon’s geological layers, is another great spot for viewing.
