Posadas is Mexico’s biggest hotel chain, and it has been diversifying away from its urban business hotels.
Posadas’ development pipeline is now 61% devoted to coastal all-inclusive hotels.
“We would like to have a balanced portfolio where we have 50% business and 50% in leisure,” said Enrique Calderón, vice-president upscale & luxury, and chief operating officer.
The company has plans to open over 1,300 new resorts rooms across Mexico and Caribbean by 2025. This pipeline is a significant change for an organization where 86% of its rooms are in urban hotels.
Posadas is expected to open the Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana with 498 rooms later this year. The Fiesta Americana Nuevo Vallarta, with 229 rooms, opened in June. Live Aqua Los Cabos is scheduled to open in 2027.
