Tribute PortfolioMarriott Bonvoy, a global portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, makes its debut in Buenos Aires at the opening of Recoleta Grand, Buenos Aires, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The property is located in the vibrant Recoleta District, which is known for its European flair and cultural riches. It joins the growing Tribute Portfolio family of independent hotels with character around the globe.

Nestled in the heart of Recoleta, a storied neighborhood affectionately known as “La París Argentina,” Recoleta Grand invites guests to discover the cultural and architectural spirit of Buenos Aires through a singular lens of bold design and vibrant local storytelling. Tribute portfolio’s captivating design philosophy is reflected in the hotel which draws inspiration from literary riches and the bohemian appeal of the surrounding area. The hotel’s 142 guest rooms, including 6 eclectic suites, feature layered interiors designed by local designer Lucas Gashu that honor porteña culture and French influence through a thoughtful mix of textures, art, and bespoke details.

The hotel creates a literary and cultural story that is woven throughout the entire experience, from check-in until last call. The hotel has a strong literary theme. It provides complimentary bilingual books to every guest and curates vintage collections in the communal areas. The hotel invites guests to discover the city by reading its stories. This creates a sense that goes beyond the walls of the hotel.

The Recoleta Grande offers a unique dining experience that combines local identity with culinary heritage. Maximiliano Mazumoto is the Executive Chef, whose style is refined and approachable. It combines Argentinean ingredients with a contemporary flair as well as subtle oriental influences. Born in Buenos Aires, Matsumoto trained under celebrated chef Germán Martitegui and honed his craft in some of the most iconic kitchens including Faena, Olsen, Casa Cruz, and Tegui.

Café de Prensa Celebrates Buenos Aires literary scene with speciality coffee and unique designs that are inspired by the written words. The Atrium It is an elegant bistro that serves all day and is rooted locally. Mansión Mihura, A preserved historical corner in Buenos Aires – where La Maga and Rayuela coexist – features bold, author driven cuisine within immersive spaces inspired from Latin American literature. This space was designed by the internationally acclaimed EDG Interior Architecture + Design studio, which merged historical elegance and modern expression to create a multi-layered vision.

Ignacio Maggio will be in charge of the hotel’s cocktail program. Maggio is one of Argentina’s most respected mixologists. In 2017, he was also the first Argentine winner of the prestigious World Class Argentina contest. Maggio, who has over a decade’s experience, has helped shape award-winning bar programmes across Latin America. Acorde Bar, in Ecuador, was recognized as one of the 50 Best Discovery lists for its immersive fusion between cocktails, music and art. At Recoleta Grand, he brings a distinctive blend of technical precision, cultural storytelling, and creative flair—crafting cocktails that transcend the glass and invite guests on a sensory journey through Argentina’s rich landscape of flavor and tradition.

The hotel has also 3,700 square feet in flexible event space spread across four spacious rooms. Other amenities include a rooftop patio, Floralis Spa and Executive Lounge, as well a fully-equipped fitness center.

The historic Palacio Mhura is home to the hotel. Its facade from the early 20th century and its intricate typography pays homage Recoleta’s artistic and architectural roots. Near cultural landmarks, such as the National Museum of Fine Arts or Recoleta Center Cultural, the hotel gives guests a front row seat to the neighborhood’s timeless elegance and evolving spirit. Recoleta Grand, as part of its mission of serving as a cultural center for both locals and tourists alike, is developing a dynamic schedule of on-site activities. Guests can look forward to rotating and permanent art installations, literary pop-ups and editorial events at Café de Prensa, gastronomic experiences, as well as curated collaborations with local artists, publishers, and chefs. Additionally, A vinyl collection is available to guests, adding a nostalgic and elevated sensory layer to hotel’s immersive experience.
