Marriott is planning to deploy an AI-based tool which will automate the complex task of assigning hotel rooms for front desk staff.
“Essentially, taking hours and hours of manual work — all that heads down work the associates do — and in a fraction of a second, 1.2 million rooms can be assigned,” said Naveen Manga, global chief technology officer for Marriott International, at the Skift Data and AI Summit on Wednesday.
The front desk staff has a lot of things to consider before assigning rooms in the morning. They have to take into consideration upcoming arrivals as well as guests’ preferences, their reservation preferences, occupancy, lengths of stay, loyalty levels and much more. Any changes
