    Mandarin Oriental’s Urban Resort Debuts in Xi’an

    Mandarin Oriental The Group is pleased to announce that Mandarin Oriental, Xi’an will open in 2029. This will be the first urban resort of the Group in Northwestern China. The property was developed under a management contract and promises to offer a unique experience of tranquility, wellbeing, and cultural immersion.

    Xi’an has a rich imperial past. It is the former capital for 13 dynasties. The Terracotta Warriors are a global landmark. Mandarin Oriental Xi’an will be a reflection of this legacy, blending Tang Dynasty inspired luxury with refined service, and designed to honour Xi’an’s cultural narrative, while offering an excellent standard of service.

    In a landscaped setting, next to a newly built park, this hotel will offer 166 rooms and suites that are beautifully designed, with terraces outside, unobstructed views, and natural hot springs. Seven villas will be available, with each having a private terrace and pool, providing a unique level of privacy and exclusivity.

    Highlights of the hotel include The Spa at Mandarin OrientalExclusive hot spring pavilions and immersive wellness facilities are set in natural surroundings. Mandarin Oriental is a pioneer of holistic wellbeing with its 50-metre indoor/outdoor pool, children’s swimming pool and comprehensive wellness programme.

    ACPV ARCHITECTS is in charge of both the interior and architecture design. Studio ACPV, well-known for its work at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum and Milan will take a natural approach, with understated sophistication and a strong sense of destination, reflecting Xi’an’s season and cultural heritage.

    Five distinct dining venues will be available to guests, including an authentic Chinese restaurant that offers local culinary delights. Hotel social and event areas will include a 1,200 sqm ballroom, with outdoor terraces adjacent to it with views of the Park. This is the perfect place for social gatherings.

    Other guest experiences include indoor and outdoor facilities for children, an art gallery and culture center, a bookshop, a retail store, and leisure facilities.

    Mandarin Oriental, Xi’an is a perfect example of the Group’s ability blend heritage and contemporary luxury. The property, located in one of China’s most historic cities, will combine natural beauty with elevated design, and a variety of curated experiences.
