UK: Lifestyle hotel and club brand Crafted debuts in East Sussex at the end of 2025.
Chris King is the co-founder and creator of the Birch Crafted, the hotel concept is described as “a series of life-friendly, nature-inspired hotels and clubs that are crafted by name”.
The brand will debut at Powdermills, in East Sussex. The property will be launched in 2025 and is built around an eight-acre private lake.
Housed in a Georgian Grade II-listed country house, the hotel will feature 55 rooms and suites designed by House of Dré. The hotel’s amenities include a pub, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, artisan studio, an art studio, and specialized craft barn.
Three cottages are available with three to five bedrooms. Each comes equipped with a kitchen diner and living space with a stove, while the larger of the cottages – the Lake House – comes with a private garden, outdoor pool, and a deck onto the lake.
Two creative spaces – the Craft Barn and Art Studio – will host activities including ceramics, printmaking, and other art-based experiences.
At its F&B venues, Crafted aims to reach 75 per cent British-sourced ingredients across its menus. The restaurant, which will be run by an executive chef who has not yet been announced, can offer food prepared on an open grill outside and in a wood-fired brick oven.
King said, “Crafted is just the start. Crafted is set to grow over the next few years into a network that includes hotels and clubs in the UK and abroad. Each hotel is unique, but they all share the same spirit. They are nature-first and creatively charged.
