“RoomKey was part of our journey since the very beginning,” said Jeannette Clarke, Regional Operations Manager for Tech Support, HR, Loyalty Programs, and Reservations Services at Lakeview Hotels & Resorts. “In 2005, our company was looking for an affordable and easy-to-use front desk solution. RoomKey ticked all the boxes, and still does.
Hands-On Innovation: A History
Lakeview began using RoomKey to modernize and streamline their outdated reservation system across all of its locations. RoomKey, the flexible and intuitive software that was used to manage front desk reservations and central reservations at their Brandon hotel as its inaugural property, has been adopted by Lakeview.
RoomKey, a cloud-based tool with greater functionality, was chosen by Lakeview to replace its legacy system. Their operations today span multiple regions, with a diverse range of guest demographics. From oil and gas contractors and work crews in Western Canada, to leisure travelers and corporate clients in the Prairies.
Clarke stated that “from the beginning, we have focused our hiring on attitude rather than experience.” RoomKey is the solution. It is easy to use and their support team is excellent. “You don’t need to be a technical wizard to get started.”

Lakeview’s longevity with RoomKey isn’t just about software — it’s about service. Lakeview has witnessed the platform’s evolution from early days of troubleshooting and tech support to more recent collaborations on mobile check-ins and payment processing.
Clarke continued, “They have always been responsive to user feedback.” RoomKey has a thoughtful development approach. It’s important to build the best product for all users, not just react quickly.
That feedback loop has led to system enhancements like recurring reservations, more robust group block tools, and improved rate-linking functionality — features Lakeview teams use daily to drive efficiency and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Clarke stated that although RoomKey started as a simple tool for making reservations, it has evolved with the company. “Twenty-five years on, we are still discovering new features and improving the system. That’s the mark of a partner — not just a vendor.”
