Two of the most popular countries to go on safari are Kenya You can also find out more about the following: Tanzania. I’ve lived in both countries for more than 25 years and worked in the safari industry there. This has given me first-hand knowledge of the amazing wildlife and landscapes. Here are some things to look forward to on a safari to each country.

    Wildlife

Kenya and Tanzania are home to lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, hyaenas, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras. They can also be visited by the famous wildebeests migration. In Kenya, visitors have more chances to see rhinos, mature elephants (called “tuskers”), and rare animals like Rothschild’s giraffes, grévy’s zebras and somali ostriches. Visitors to Tanzania can view wild chimpanzees and lion prides. They can also witness the birth of wildebeests and the amazing mass of animals in February and March.

    Landmarks and game parks

Both Tanzania and Kenya are home to vast amounts of protected land. Tanzania has more protected land, including Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There are many landmarks in Tanzania. KilimanjaroSerengeti National Park – a 5700 square mile wildlife sanctuary that is home to the Great Wildebeest Migration for nine months a year – is Africa’s highest peak.

Kenya, meanwhile, boasts Africa’s second highest peak, Mount Kenya. Masai Mara Game Reserve has the “big five”, lion, leopard and elephant. It also contains rhinoceros and cape buffalo. Reserves like Lewa Wildlife Conservancy are pioneers at saving endangered black rhinos. It also has more private, semi-private, You can also find out more about the following: community conservancies—such as Mara North and Naibosho—that offer a wider range of activities not generally allowed in national parks. This includes off-roading during game drives, night drives and walking safaris.
