Montage Healdsburg is pleased to announce the appointment of John Wielenberg as hotel manager, overseeing daily operations for the resort’s 258-acre retreat in Sonoma wine country. Wielenberg, who has over 15 years’ experience in luxury hotel operations and food and beverages, brings a collaborative approach to leadership and an unwavering commitment to customer service.
Wielenberg, who joined Montage International 2023, was the manager of Pendry Hotel West Hollywood. He led the key departments such as rooms, security, and Spa Pendry. He also supported the hotel’s award-winning culinary concept, helmed Chef Wolfgang Puck. Previously, he held leadership roles at renowned properties across the U.S. and Europe, including The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg, Half Moon Bay, and Los Angeles & JW Marriott L.A. LIVE, where he oversaw operations for 10 distinct dining venues. Wielenberg was the executive assistant manager of The West Hollywood EDITION in 2020. In this role, he played a crucial role in steering The West Hollywood EDITION during the pandemic, setting new standards in financial performance and guest satisfaction.
A native of Bösel, Germany, Wielenberg launched his hospitality career in a family-owned restaurant, where he gained early exposure to service and culinary excellence, laying the groundwork for impactful operational leadership.
