Essex Hotel Management, LLC has promoted John Kattato to chief operating officer.
Kattato, in his new position, will continue to lead the operations team and expand his responsibilities to all departments. He will be focusing on fostering the company culture, helping with strategic initiative creation, and providing guidance and leadership to department heads.
Kattato, meanwhile, will be more visible outside of the organization as he develops strong relationships with hotel owners, key clients and other stakeholders. He will report directly into Jerry Eichelberger (CEO).
Kattato, who has more than forty years of hospitality experience, is a key player in the Essex team. He joined the company in 2002 and most recently served as senior vice-president of operations. He oversaw the teams in this role and was a major contributor to all aspects of assessment including acquisitions and new project planning. In his role as SVP, he also served on the Executive Management Committee of the company.
Kattato worked as a full-service manager for MeriStar Hotels Corp. and Interstate Hotels Corp. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Niagara University and a Certified Hospital Administrator (CHA).
