Intrepid Travel launches two “Activeism” trips in U.S. parks that combine adventure with environmental advocacy. These trips, hosted by notable activists, aim to increase awareness about threats facing the parks.
There are two new ways to help support the U.S. parks and those who protect them.
Intrepid Travel, a tour company that focuses on responsible travel and responsible tourism, has launched two limited edition “active-ism trips” hosted by influential activists within U.S. National Parks. Both trips combine adventure with discussions by activists to help travelers unite around a shared goal of preserving the national parks. The trips will be guided by both Intrepid guides and guest activists who can help guide the discussions about advocacy to protect the parks.
The National Park Service budget was cut by $1 billion and more than 1,500 staff were dismissed.
“As a company that is driven by purpose, we are aware of the important role tourism can play to support both people and protected environments.” “With these Activeism trips, our hope is to raise awareness, foster discussion and empower travelers to advocate for themselves and have a trip of a lifetime,” Leigh Barnes President of the Americas at Intrepid Travel said in a shared statement. Travel + Leisure.
